May 25, 2023 - Fly with Jeff
We met Jeff at the Sebastian Airport this morning. The plan was to give him the full ride today; we got cut short two days ago.
We ran into his hangar neighbor at the fuel pump and ended up talking to him for awhile. He built this nice looking Kitfox Model 7 and has fun flying around Florida in it.
Then we headed west and soon were looking down at the tricolored herons by the Stick Marsh.
I showed Jeff what the RV can do, and he had fun flying the plane.
Like so many airports, Sebastian Airport was originally a training base during World War II.
After tying down the plane, the three of us had an excellent breakfast at the nearby golf course 19th hole. It rained pretty hard while we were there. It's within walking distance of the airport terminal building, so Sebastian would be a good $100 hamburger stop for the hungary pilot.
The aft fuselage is surprisingly unsubstantial in these composite jobs.
After visiting New Hibiscus, we headed over to -- you guessed it -- the Tiki Bar! After hanging out there for awhile, we went over to the Outriggers Bar and Grill and hung out there in the outdoor bar and enjoyed lunch. Not a bad way to spend the afternoon!
At night, we watched Seinfield reruns. What a life.
